Prior to the British government, education in Alibag region was quite nominal.
In the year 1861 the first school for girls started in Alibag. The Mission Church started the first English school in Alibag in 1879.
Now a days many branded computer institutes like Aptech, SSi and local computer institutes have come up in Alibag along with many Cyber Cafe.
I left JSM College in 1992. I don't remember much about it. Most of the schools/colleges in Alibag belong to Konkan Education Society (KES).
General Arunkumar Vaidya Highschool
Earlier Topiwala Industrial Highschool. General Arunkumar Vaidya studied there.
After his death it was renamed in his name.
OK place...proximity to the sea is an additional advantage.
J.S.M. College Alibag
I was not knowing the longform of JSM even after taking admission in that college.
I asked our physics teacher and the whole class started laughing at me. "Jagatil Sundar Mulinche College"
(The College of the most beautiful girls in the world) he said and I blindly accepted that.
Life is very cool at JSM...Nobody forces you to attend lectures. You can see a lot of girls floating around.
Proximity to the beach is obviously an additional advantage.
Very good college for Arts, Commerce and Science. We had enjoyed many holidays (especially long weekends ...) due to student strikes. Library is very good...I used to prefer Library to regular classes.
J. R. H. Kanyashala Alibag
Situated at approximately 50 m from Siddhi-Vinayaka Temple. Founded in 1930..Girls are very sharp !!! Many PURIST girls you can find out here.
If I get an email from somebody I can easily distinguish between a common girl and "Kanyshaletil Mulgi" - Just by reading few lines. I had been there 4-5 times...but don't remember much...
Saint Mary's Convent School Alibag
For kids... I never tried to figure out what do they do exactly... I have bought a plot in Alibag just behind this school.... 2 minutes walking distance from this school. Decided to spent my retirement life here.
Chandrakant Hari Keluskar Homeopathic Medical College Alibag
Founded on September 16, 1988 by KES. Students with an average intelligence prefer this college for BHMS. (Hey....This is my personal opinion...)..The strength is 50 students per year and college hospital is near Megha Talkies.
