Way To Alibaug From Mumbai - How to get there from Mumbai?

Alibag Access:

By Air : Mumbai and Pune are the nearest airport service from Alibag. Mumbai is 108 km and Pune is 138 km by road.

By Rail: Nearest railway station from Alibag is Panvel and Pen (Konkan Railways) Panvel is 60 km and Pen is just 28 km by road.

By Road : Alibag is best connected to Mumbai, Borivali, Pune, Thane, Kalyan, Kolhapur, Nashik etc.by road. Maharashtra state transport (S.T.) Semi-luxury, luxury and ordinary buses are daily available for Alibag. In additional to these, private taxis, luxury and semi luxury buses are also available.

By Sea :

Alibag is well connected to Mumbai by sea route also. Launches, catamaran service are available throughout the year except mansoon. Mumbai-Revas Jetty launches leave Ferry Wharf by appox. one hour duration. The journey takes one and half hour. The timetable of the launches depends upon the high and low tides. The same timetable is displayed at the Ferry Wharf for next eight days. The S.T. Stand is quite near to the Revas Jetty. Auto rickshaws are also available. The distance between Revas-Alibag takes another forty five minutes.

Speed boats and catamaran service are also available from Gateway of India to Mandwa Jetty. Interharbour Catamarans Ferry Ltd., Maldar Catamarans & Ajantha Launches provides this service. To reach Mandwa these takes thirty five minutes to one hour depending on the type of boats. From Mandwa all these three companies carry passengers to Alibag

in their own luxury buses. This bus journey takes another thirty five minutes to reach Alibag.

By Boat

There are boats and hovercrafts leaving from the Gateway of India on a daily basis from 0600 hrs to 1800 hrs except during monsoons. Journey time is 45 minutes to Mandwa and approximately 45 min. onwards by bus to Alibag. The fare is around Rs: 100.

Small passenger service boats ply frequently between Mumbai and Mandwa or Rewas. They are cheap but take more than 90 min

By Road

There are a number of buses plying round the clock from Mumbai, Parel, Dadar, Boriwali and Thane. Alibag is on the Mumbai-Goa route (not exactly - from Vadkhal - there is a diversion) and is also accessible by Konkan Railway. Get down at Panvel and you can catch a bus.

By Rail

Only two options - Get down at Panvel (65 Km) or Pen (Only Konkan Railway - Get down at Ramawadi Station - 23 Km). You can catch a bus. I will not recommend this option.

By Air

Mumbai is the nearest airport. (Approx - 110 Km). Pune is another one.(140 Km). Getting off at Pune is not a good choice. You don't get frequent buses and journey is horrible. Mumbai is always a better choice.
