Shilpa Shirodkar (born 20 November 1969) is the elder sister of actress Namrata Shirodkar. She is the grand-daughter of famous Marathi
actress Meenakshi Shirodkar, who starred in Marathi film Brahmachari (1930s), and was the first actress to wear a swimsuit and gambol in a pool,
albeit to depict Lord Krishna bathing in the Holy river Yamuna with his gopis.

She made her film debut with the 1989 film Bhrashtachar. She has appeared in successful films such as Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Hum (1991), Aankhen (1993) and the critically acclaimed Mrityudand (1997). She quit acting after her marriage like her sister Namrata. Her last film appearance was in the 2000 film Gaja Gamini. In her short film career she did not get enough opportunity to showcase her talents and was stuck with roles which provided glamour to the films. She tied the knot with Holland resident Apresh Ranjit at a simple ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday, July 11, 2000.
